Product Overview
The SATA12940 is a 3/8" square-drive T-handle built for technicians who need to turn fasteners on or near live electrical systems. Its fully insulated grip is certified by German VDE, and every unit is individually tested to withstand 10,000V in accordance with IEC/EN 60900 — well above the 1000V AC rating it's certified for in service. The T-shape offers comfortable two-handed leverage and direct, gear-free force transmission through a heat-treated chrome vanadium (Cr-V) steel shaft, with a chrome-plated finish beneath the insulation to resist rust. At 200mm (about 8") overall, it's compact enough for tight enclosures while still giving real turning leverage.
Important: VDE-insulated tools are a safety-critical, PPE-adjacent tool. Inspect the insulation for cracks, nicks, or wear before every use, never use a tool with damaged insulation, and pair only with VDE-insulated sockets when working live. Insulation rating and certification apply to the tool as supplied — do not modify, grind, or re-plate.

Lifetime Warranty. SATA12940's individual product page explicitly lists Lifetime Warranty, so the fallback exclusion clause wasn't needed. This SATA T-handle is covered against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when used as intended. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, use with non-insulated or power/impact tools, cuts or abrasion to the insulating jacket, normal wear, or cosmetic wear.
