Is the Sanwa CD800a True RMS?
No. The CD800a is an average-sensing meter, which is accurate on normal sine-wave AC. For inverters, VFDs or other distorted waveforms, choose the True RMS CD800a2 or CD800a3.
Are the CD800a and CD-800A the same model?
Yes. Sanwa writes the model as CD800a; some sellers list it as CD-800A or CD 800A. It is the same multimeter.
What battery does the CD800a use?
Two 1.5V AA batteries (R6P), giving approximately 500 hours on the DCV range with manganese batteries.
Can the CD800a measure capacitance?
Yes, from 50nF up to 100μF. It is not suitable for capacitors with a large leakage current.
What is the CD800a safety rating?
IEC 61010-1 CAT III 600V, so it is suitable for distribution-level work such as building wiring, sockets and fixed equipment up to 600V.
