The Kennedy Pro spark-resistant ball pein hammer has a beryllium copper head for use with cold chisels and punches, setting rivets and shaping metal in flammable and explosive atmospheres, where a steel hammer striking a hard surface could ignite gas, vapour or dust. It is fitted with a fine-grain hardwood shaft for strength and comes in three head weights: 1lb, 1.5lb and 2lb.

- Clean and re-dress regularly to remove ferrous particles or contaminants, which can impair spark resistance
- Do not grind or re-dress beryllium copper without proper dust extraction – beryllium dust is hazardous to breathe
- Copper-based alloys should not be used in acetylene atmospheres
- Non-sparking tools reduce, but do not remove, ignition risk; follow your site's hazardous-area permit rules
